      Decent enough, but it's still a bank.

      Pros

      -Like any workplace, finding a good work environment at BNS is largely dependent upon the people you work with. I've been lucky and unlucky in that area in 3 jobs within 4.5 years. -Decent overall compensation package, however less than some of the other banks are offering. -Accommodating work environment. -Ability to move positions and advance within the organization does exist, however it requires a tremendous amount of work and patience.

      Cons

      -Branch-level positions have a high stress level and often do not equate to equal monetary rewards. -Shrinking job opportunities lately with a lot of cuts in the last year. -Management tends to waste time and waste talent.

      Pros

      Very few pro's of working here to be honest besides the ability to occasionally work remotely from home, and casual dress/atmosphere. The pay is average, the benefits are average.

      Cons

      -Poor stock performance -Weak leadership and executive mgmt. -Pay is not competitive / bank products and services also trail behind the other banks in terms of competitiveness. -Those who do well in their jobs are held back as the bank has inadequate knowledge sharing practices in place. Whereas those who under perform are happily sent somewhere else. -The bank is going through restructuring, resulting in layoffs and many Canadian jobs being sent offshore to India. Very uncertain time for all employees, and the lack of trust/integrity from executive mgmt does not help.

      Good place to progress. Helpful management team. Family environment. Great co workers

      closed minded. Ceo sucks. Implementing to many changes in such a hurry that it's not being done properly. No job stability.
