# Good work life balance, since there is now work, initial six months you will spend to learn few courses # Flexible working hours

Cons

# Low quality analytics division of Shell International, most of the rubbish works carried out by Chennai data science team # Incompetent Managers (a.k.a BVM), they have zero leadership skills and lack vision for the team. # No guidance or mentoring from managers # Just for their promotion, they are hiring lot of people

Beware, Downsizing and Downgrading Positions

Pros

Large company with potential to move to other positions and areas Flexible working schedule. Still offer 9/80 (work 9 hours M-R, 8 hours every other Friday). Still offer flexible starting times. People are nice and work in a team environment. Still provide free coffee (regular and decaf) Cafeteria has great food

Cons

Shell continues to reorganize, eliminating high pay positions and putting more responsibility on lower grade levels. The department that I work in has reorganized every year for the past 3 years. There are now 54% less people and the majority left have less than 4 years experience. Work/ Life balance is poor. Since there are less people, there is more overtime work. Folks are scared to provide honest feedback to management since they may be eliminated during the next reorganization. Beware that there are some people who get away with back-stabbing to advance their careers. Everyone is ranked against each other for bonuses and advancement.

I hardly see any pros after being here closely two years. Lost all technical skills just other than buttering Leads and project managers i do not see anything good here.

Cons

Pls close the bangalore branch as the oil rates are good. Retail is one of the worst departments to work . As said I have seen few BA who are just following some product owner even to rest rooms to get some good image. buttering and backdoor politics
