Pros

Pay Package - not sure how long will they pay Joining Bonus

Cons

Terminating people is very high during probation and are asked to payback the joining bonus No work from home at all , they will agree before joining later on will tell about SEZ policy No flexibility, No onsite they hire people with high experience and are asked to go before probation or extension of probation, in turn asked to return the joining bonus No promotion for 4 years of joining and promotion depends based on the role availability - so forget it. They talk worldclass facility but it is as same as any service company Please don't ruin your career joining here, offer is too sweet to revoke at the same time think about the risk of losing the job (which is very high) and getting another job with shell pay is again a big challenge

Pros

Salary on paper! Food coupons worth 1100 INR a month which isn't a part of CTC Gym Free coffee/ tea and cookies

Cons

Many.. 1. You will b hired at a much lower band/scale/job group as per their requirement or HR target completion. 2. Salary is good on paper , no employee friendly tax benefits so your net take home will be lesser if you are joining at 30% or below increment. Also salary has a huge variable component. 3.Once you join, your KT is 0 especially if you are replacing a Malaysian or indian vendor counterpart, but are expected to perform from day 1 and are expected to know shell processes in and out. How? Well HR will keep saying that to you" you are an experienced hire so this was the minimum expectation we had from you!!" RIP common sense .. as a new joiners can never know what's happening in a complex environment as Shell where redundant stone age processes rule the day ( don't even think about suggesting improvements else you will become a sore thorn in your manager's eyes like I did)!! 4. No respect or dignity for working day in and nights out, weekends too better check and mails and prepare your reports as you will be subjected to weekly condescending 1x1 with your manager who is a disgruntled person losing his/her job due to ramp up in India. 5. Work wise nothing to learn. All primitive practices of using MS excel as tools have basic functionalities and the data you feed in is manual, hence you can imagine that the reports are manipulated to show leadership's favorites managers' projects in green and rest in amber or red. 6. Coming back to respect, if you are or below job group 5, don't expect respect as it's reserved only for JG4 and above! 7. During your appraisal all your hard work is negated and you are told what a useless resource you are and how you have not done anything the whole year despite you having e mail proofs to counter the discussion but don't bother, manager will tell you how he/she doesn't want to see it as they have enough "escalation mails" against you. What escalations you may ask as you may not have been looped in any communication( it's escalation behind the back, neatly drafted exactly during appraisal time) 5. 0 job security: if you are unlucky you will be told how useless you are for not meeting expectations and your probation of 6 months will be extended by 1-2 or 3 months( manager discretion) and it's nothing but termination in disguise as no matter how hard you work you will still be shown the door. If you are slightly lucky, you will pass your probation but be given a PIP saying the same things which they missed during probation and hold you guilty! 6. If you are lucky like I was you will miss both but still be subjected to extreme underlying politics 0 growth opportunities and 0 learnings practically but will be expected to sing and dance and showcase Indian culture when the big bosses arrive from UK or Netherlands and will be rewarded with a lunch or dinner in nearby hotels like Novotel and Marriott. 7. Onsite travel to normal employees is restricted to 2 weeks on company card so spend the change from your pocket and convert tHose USD and Euros or pounds to INR at a much lesser rate and lose money! If you are extremely management friendly you can get long term assignment to UK. 8.HR department in its entirety is useless as they act like psuedo owners. no concern for employee grievances ( even pregnant women aren't spared, read few reviews on same site!) Instead HR claims how frustrated employees have written bad reviews and they now seem to have a PR team writing some good reviews anonymously to resurrect the image.( Don't believe any positive review, it's HR and their PR team. 9. Zero practical emphasis on learning: on paper and during staff meetings, you are encouraged to learn, attend trainings and get yourself certified, in reality you won't find any time to do so, but if you do and get yourself certified, your manager will abuse you and taunt you till you feel guilty of learning a new technology or methodology. The managers here are one insecure lot! They will try their best to crush you and your aspirations destroying your self confidence to keep you under their control. 10. bPO culture: don't expect IT culture as you are wearing headphones and taking calls for almost 80% of your day including late evenings. 11. Over emphasis on Hesse: oil and Gas company hence focus is on health and safety( physical) though mentally you may be destroyed by your manager but no one will care so HSSE is a joke! 12. 0 ethics and morals as reports are manipulated hence the whole concept of ethical transparency is annihilated. Still you want to join, go and take the risk of destroying a decade plus career built on hard work

Typical corporate culture of taking a while to get things done, nothing bad though.
