Too many changes and India office has too many managers from Service companies

Working in silos is a challenge

Most of the management are alcoholics and have huge egos and tend to be a bit dim

Some old school people and ideas, happiness can depend on line manager

1. They do not see much opportunity in India as a market 2. They do not value your external experience prior to Shell 3. Company is centrally organised and managed with low designation and pay jobs resting in India (its a back-office) 4. They have a culture which promotes bias and show-offs 5. You cannot be a subject matter expert in Shell. You have to change roles every 4 years and it is not easy to migrate from one role to other as you depend on the mercy of your line manager and have to be very sweet with him/ her all time.

Not a tech company for engineer

People are very rude to you Managers will not work with you on hours

The political pressures to move toward renewable or cleaner energy is causing Shell to devalue strong platforms like fuels and lubricants. They are cutting headcount there when this is the cash cow for them. The strategic changes are opening the door for competition to take business. Mid-level managers are being cut dramatically making it hard for future folks to advance in their careers.
