Pros

Pay and benefits are decent.

Cons

Massive job cuts in early December 2024. Managers were not even aware their direct reports were being eliminated. Worker bees were cut but middle managers who don’t know how to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty kept their jobs. It is clear they are cutting expenses to look financially appealing to investors. The plan is to sell off divisions and focus on making the Medical/Surgical division ripe for acquisition. The CEO and about half of the executive leadership team came from Medtronic so don’t be surprised when Medtronic acquires what’s left of Solventum in the next few years.

Pros

- Great compensation - Passionate and kind teammates - Ability to work remote

Cons

- Upper management used our team to spin off the company, for which we had to work on weekends at times, and laid off a bunch of our teammates after they completed the spin off. Teammates who were crucial for the process as well. A lot of people laid off had been with 3M/Solventum for more than 5 years, even 15. -They don't know what they want. That means that we're constantly having to redo work and do so without much time. -The lack of respect for our time from upper management has driven many coworkers to quit due to burnout and pressure. -Not many upward movement opportunities. Those are being filled in my external hires.
