Pros

You'll probably never get to work with more interesting/outgoing people at any other job than at Starbucks. You and your coworkers are a team and every day presents new challenges, but everyone pitches in to make the day go as smoothly as possible and put a smile on one another's face.

Cons

Vertical movement within the company can be difficult. My former ASM relayed to me that Starbucks' policy gravitates toward outside hires who have management experience, even if their field is completely unrelated to the customer service industry. This is disappointing as a current employee; qualified workers who have invested years of their life into a company should be given priority over promotions and not looked over because they lack that management experience.

Pros

The vision, value are inspirational; but senior leaders don't bring them to life. They are not more than PR strategies to make the community believe they care for causes when they do it to be opportunistic and create an artificial reputation

Cons

Leaders push employees to achieve targets at any cost, even though when everyone knows that may not be possible. Leaders have direct control on the financial and forecasts to influence what the company signal to the market The company also take advantages of its scale/size to drives costs down from vendors to levels that they barely make any profits Very passive aggressive culture; very political transactional and instrumental They adhere to popular 'public causes to gain good reputation, using their vast PR resources and influencing
