Pros

Company moves quickly to stay relevant in their space. Great people to work with across the board. A refreshing change from some of the other more political and cut throat companies. Often times the culture of retailers is for corporate employees to look down on the field and not want to spend time in stores. Not the case at Starbucks where putting on a green apron is a badge of honor that even execs take seriously. Starbucks also puts their money where their mouth is when it comes to community service. While they don't brag enough about the work they do, it is happening daily.

Cons

The pace can be challenging to keep up with, especially in the field. If you have the privilege of working in the shadow of the SSC, be prepared for a different level of scrutiny. Not necessarily a bad thing, but worth of noting that this can be even more challenging with the pace of change.

Cons

top heavy management, overbearing managers, un-fair bonus structure for managers, no upward movement, no mentor-ship, questionable people are managers, false promises, have to ask permission to have a talk with someone senior, some managers are so micomanage minded they proof-read all your emails

Pros

Amazing learning environment. They really invested in their management team , through varies development learning sessions.

Cons

The expectations are extremely high. Managers only get 8 hours of time off the floor. This makes it extremely difficult to get everything finished in a reasonable time period. The best CEO I've ever worked for.
