Pros

Starbucks provides excellent benefits to all of its employees. Furthermore, the company takes training and education about the company and its products very seriously, which means that every employee generally enjoys a sense of competency and confidence in his or her role. It is also pleasant that the customers tend to be educated, polite and friendly.

Cons

When it comes to the positions at the individual locations, they aren't typically jobs a person would be interested in while out of college or grad school.

Pros

Pretty good wage for part time work while in school or if you are looking for a way to get health benefits without working full time.

Cons

Not a great system for store management. Generally, store managers are over worked and under paid and it can be a difficult process to advance beyond a store manager to district or corporate opportunities.

Pros

You generally work with pretty cool people. I made some really close friends while working at Starbucks. It's a good place to work if you just want benefits and do not rely on it as your main source of income.

Cons

The management may or may not be professional. In my case, it was not. There was little to no communication and my last manager did not even know what she was doing. The store was constantly dirty because only a few of us cared to work and we never received any praise for picking up the slack. The atmosphere was constantly negative and made it extremely difficult to want to come into work. This was just my store. I'm sure there are better stores to work at. However, the company itself is extremely corporate and only cares about making money. Employees really do not matter. If you are wanting to work at a coffee shop, do not go to Sbucks. it really is just a glorified McDonalds and you make about the same.
