Pros

It is probably the best company to work for as a full time college student. They are greatly flexible and they work around your schedule. always open to what you need as an employee.

Cons

Sometimes it is impossible to get a shift covered. if you are sick, they put the responsability on you to get it covered.

Pros

First off, Starbucks is one of the only companies that I know of that offers part-time (minimum 20-25 hrs per week) FULL BENEFITS! They even offer tuition reimbursement, adoption fee help, smoking cessation therapy and if my memory serves me right, I believe they even cover one or two massages per year. Because they are open so many hours of the day they accept a crazy schedule (such as one of a college student). They are CLEAN and sanitary. They are very thorough in their training and in no time you will be a very competent barista, able to work at any coffee shop. You will receive a free pound of coffee or free box of tea every week you work there.

Cons

Starbucks is not a family owned business, it is a corporation and they want to make money. If that is a problem for you, don't even bother applying. You will be required to ask people's names and try and make connections with people. You will have to suggest a pastry or coffee or some merchandise with every order. You have to test all the coffees, BLACK. So if you aren't a coffee drinker, watch out, their coffee is strong without cream and sugar. Your tips aren't given to you on a shift by shift basis. All the tips are deposited every day and put into a weekly pot and then they are given to you based on how many hours you worked that week. For instance, if the tips totalled out to be $2.00/hr and you worked 20 hours that week, you would receive $40.00 that week for tips. Also, you are taxed on at least $.50 per hour for your tips on your paycheck.
