Pros

Great benefits and free 1lb. of coffee weekly and and the 30% discount is great when they mark down merchandise. Also, you get the opportunity to network with some great customers.

Cons

Yes, some customers can be very snooty, but I understand why customers go to Starbucks...its their time to have a beverage customized exactly to their specs, and this is the one time of their work day to be the boss and show off to their friends and dates that . And at the price of a top shelf cocktail, the customer pays a premium for espresso drinks. Most baristas don't get that, so their easily offended by some of the customers.

Pros

Free pound of coffee each week. Free drinks while on the job. Most other baristas are fun and nice to work with.

Cons

Management only cares about sales and making sure they pass the company standard testing. The early hours and incessant level of hard work you're required to do does not match the minimum wage. Most of the shift supervisors are annoying and only care about covering their own asses.

Pros

- Friendly and helpful coworkers - Flexible with schedules. - Free beverages during shift, weekly markouts, and discount on other Starbucks products - Excellent training program, corporate standards for doing everything. - If you work at a high-volume store, there is always something to do so shifts go by fast.

Cons

- Sometimes you have to deal with really selfish and rude customers but you're not allowed to show frustration. - Sometimes bums come in and try to steal things from the condiment bar and it's still your responsibility to protect store property. - Office politics and gossip. - At stores that get less business, sometimes employees with seniority idle around and waste time on the clock instead of helping others out.
