Pros

The benefits. Good insurance and free drinks & coffee. Reasonably flexible hours, but less so now than before.

Cons

Upper management is in a panic about the economic downturn and is making poor snap decisions. Labor is being slashed beyond reason. The company talks out of both sides of it's mouth, promoting "respect & dignity" while continually decreasing the work/life balance.

Pros

Environment is supportive and encouraging. We are making significant investements in technology. Sr Mgmt has become a partner with IT.

Cons

Retail is a tough place to be right now and the company is struggling with keeping long term customers engaged in this recession. Also many longtime employees have never worked in this economy and they are not willing to make tough decisions around headcount reductions, budget cuts etc.

Pros

The Great atmosphere! Lots of Free coffee! Usually there are some Fun co-workers! There can be Networking opportunities! They give you a chance to Give back to community and be more involved in local happenings! Lots of freedom to express individual character! Very comfortable dress code! Great tips at the busy locations!

Cons

Busy work when there are no customers. Lots of cleaning to do. Mean/impatient/rude customers that have not had thier caffiene yet and think their coffee should be done instantly. Newer machines placed in store makes the job of making coffee too automated, feel like a robot pushing buttons. I prefer the old machines that made coffee making more of an art.
