The benefits are nice but the work is stressful. We need more people working.
Pros
I started working there while in High School and Starbucks (especially my store) was very flexible with my hours. I ended up only working 15 hours, or so, during the school year. Its working out great for me and I'm still working there. The pay is good. Although you start at minimum wage ($8 where I live, was $7.70 when I started 1.5 years ago) you get a raise every 6 months. You get a bigger raise for better performance (your overall review 'score' falls into 1 of 3 categories, which dictate how much your raise is). Also you get benefits at 20 hours, ability to purchase stock (why we're called partners) and tips.
Cons
It's stressful. People want their coffee done in as little time as possible and most get angry when things slow down. Starbucks Upper management is cutting labor, which means we get less people for a certain amount of money we make than we did before. Before this happened we were already stretched thin, now its downright horrible. The 6 month reviews are narrow. Although they cover all aspects of your job, they are bunched together into categories which can hurt you in the end. Also each of the 8 categories can only be rated 3 ways
