Toxic Culture

Pros

Compensation was okay, but not what I consider competitive.

Cons

Culture is based on pretense of caring for employees, but it’s like every other large corporation - you’re just a number. It’s the mendacity I find off-putting - I’m not a moron, and you’re not that skilled at acting. There’s a purported “open door” culture, but only if you’re there to say the right things. Dissenters are blackballed - “don’t ask questions and stay in your lane”.

Not worth it

Pros

Benefits, Decent Salary, Mileage reimbursement.

Cons

The role is nothing like what’s described during the interview process. You’re better off working a few extra hours at your current job than dealing with the stress this position brings. Expect to work 50–60 hours a week, regardless of what’s discussed upfront. The hybrid setup is misleading—they’ll ask you to come in more than originally agreed. Leadership lacks empathy and professionalism. Whether you’re sick or facing car trouble, there’s little understanding. Instead, you may be met with threats of being placed on a performance plan—this can happen even before you finish training. If you’re seeking peace of mind or work-life balance, this isn’t the place. I’ve never experienced this level of anxiety at a job. What seemed like a dream opportunity quickly turned into a nightmare.

Pros

Pay and health benefits are a pro but there are many other jobs that pay similar also. Work within teams, build friendships and have people you can vent to when customers are too much.

Cons

The culture is poor. reps are encouraged to lie to customers to get meet quotas. Leadership is very immature all around also. Working for tech companies and as a contractor for the government in comparison felt like high schoolers were given position of leadership with not much training or direction. Trust me they are not high schoolers just incompetent, pressured, and lack empathy. Most people who are there are not bad people. You can work there and have a good experience. Just keep your head down dont do too good or too bad as you may put a target on your back. I've seen it happen to countless people. Going back to the culture because it is no secret how Tmobile and its leaders operate at this location in Charleston SC. Its a call center so at anytime a big shift in business can have hundreds of people be fired.
