Pros

Absolutely terrific Desktop product, fun and young energetic culture, great benefits, fully stocked kitchens, occasional catered lunches, fun internal company activities to mix things up, visionary CEO, very down to earth accessible management team, amazing company parties, this company is going places.

Cons

If you read all the reviews for Tableau you will see that the number one complaint is low pay, and it is 100% absolutely true. Base/commission is very low for this industry (competitor compensation easily 2x to 3x higher) especially when you consider the work you will be required to put in. Commission schedule is confusing and full of traps so make sure you ask to have it explained clearly to you before you start. Current revenue growth plan set by management is completely unsustainable and will result in front line sales team burn out and eventual turnover. Ever increasing sales team head count and territory size reduction is forcing sales reps to squeeze more out of less.

Pros

Growing company with great products. The people and the culture are incredible, plenty of free food and snacks, fun events, beautiful building, and wonderful benefits. Career opportunities are there but you must seek them yourself and they will probably be outside of Customer Operations.

Cons

If you are trying to get in to Tableau, go to another department and stay away from Customer Operations in its current state and leadership. There is constant turn over, poor training, under staffing, over working, micromanaging, and low pay. Your direct manager will likely care about you and your development, but what they can accomplish is limited as they are strongly influenced by leadership above them. If you are looking to get your foot in Tableau, seek another department or be willing to endure high pressure, monotonous work, and endless over time with little to no progression. The people in the department are some of the best people you will ever work with, benefits and food are wonderful, but they are not worth the poor direction under which the team operates. It is my hope that this review will help initiate some of the much needed change.

Pros

Love working with outcome-oriented team, not nearly as much internal politicking as some of the other places I've worked. AWESOME product that people easily fall in love with.

Cons

The company is clearly maturing from startup phase, and the grumbling from early Tabloids that "things used to be better" ignores the fact that there are plenty of good people here who are excited about working on the next phase of the company's growth.
