Pros

- The product is awesome. There is nothing like it. - People are straightforward and generally agreeable. People say what they mean. - No culture of incompetent "lifers" like at other major software vendors. People know their stuff. - The work is challenging.

Cons

- Tableau hires young, ambitious workers and underpays them. - There is little in the way of training or career development. - Low morale is pervasive in some groups. - Constant fires, insane amounts of context switching, lots of moving targets to hit. - The fabled "Tableau culture" is quickly becoming a thing of the past. It was very real when I first joined.

Pros

Great culture, very good work life balance. Amazing product to sell and great to see a lot of customers get excited. Not much politics and Lots of people like to help each other's.

Cons

Building internal career. Hard to see strong leadership in middle managements. Healthcare benefit can be better... But not much things to say.

Pros

great product to work with, lots of recognition in the industry so you do feel like you're part of a mission. there's a lot of enthusiasm to do well though sometimes it can be a bit like a cult. the most senior management level in the US are the most amazing and humble leaders I have ever met. They took time to know every employee, took the initiative to introduce themselves personally and are extremely approachable like as if I work in a 10 person company instead of 2000. overall there is terrific leadership and you're in the right ship with them steering the wheels. have enjoyed working here overall except for some bad experiences

Cons

1. hiring too fast - sales managers are hiring anyone who can close deals and compromising on cultural fit. many new managers are hired from corporate firms like dell, oracle and many values are lost. 2. it is much easier for an external candidate to secure a new role than an internal one. an external candidate needs the approval of hiring manager & HR. an internal transfer requires the silent approval of almost the entire company across all departments. it's a very impression driven and political environment, however nice people are. 3. impression driven. performance is measured based on impression more than metrics. you can perform well on metrics and secure good ratings but still not do well. 4. while most of the managers are great leaders, new manager hired are increasingly different. such as micro-management instead of empowerment. they're kind of like settling in a new environment and just want to make the books look good without caring too much about any values or culture because they just really need to meet the quota 5. culture is not as open and non-hierarchical as it used to be. a lot of the culture has been lost over the past 2 years due to rapid growth and hiring 6. open communication - you don't know who's talking to who, whose impression is influencing every else's and where do you start correcting impressions. nobody is saying anything explicitly except discussing under the table like every thing is a secret. you'll have no clue what's happening unless you're in on it as well
