Pros

There’s a lot of opportunity to work alongside law-enforcement. You feel some sense of accomplishment with the apprehensions of shoplifters but you are in dangerous situations throughout your employment. You have to be on your toes and make sure you have all your steps before making any type of apprehension otherwise you’re on a final and then or let go. There are many rules and lot of your stops are reviewed by the assets protection business partner so you have to make sure you adhere to them. I worked at target for a long time so I had a lot of ups and downs.

Cons

You get paid less than other leaders even though your work is much more dangerous. Also there are a lot of politics when it comes to your advancement. I was a woman APS and I didn’t get treated equally as the others man
