Pros

Good salary, solid foundation of understanding and empathy for employees

Cons

Doesn’t always match the foundation. Long hours, advertised as 4 10 hour shifts, as a manager you’re doing 4 maybe 12.5 hour shifts.

Pros

- Store discounts/benefits. - Well-being benefits. - Education benefits.

Cons

- Good opportunity to get your foot in the door with supply chain in a Fortune 50 world, but not a good development opportunity if you plan on working anywhere other than Target in your career. - Hypocrisy among standards enforcement from a managerial level. - "Holier than thou" mentality from 90% of anyone higher in authority than the floor-level manager. I truly believe it's the culture of the company - the belief that Target holds the moral/ethical standard over all others is crazy. - Horrible senior leadership. They don't have the slightest clue of how to be "leaders of leaders," where they need to be willing to learn and teach others/train them to be the next senior leader - but instead demands expectations for things they don't fully understand themselves, nor are willing to improve the process. - Managers have no power over team members. HR seems to gatekeep holding low-performing team members accountable. All disciplinary actions have to be vetted multiple times before they can be delivered, sometimes leading to the "statute of limitations" to be exceeded and the disciplinary action to be voided.
