Pros

Great coworkers, dental. Discount stacks with redcard, coupons, cartwheel, etc

Cons

Training isn't fully fleshed out. The discount is only 10%, but you can only use it with cash, redcard, ebt, or a gift card (which you can't fill with unapproved methods of payments for discount use). The discount isn't much, but it's just enough to get you to spend a lot of your money there. There are times when they give out assignments without fully describing how to do it. I'm 2 years in and still learning about things that I should've known in the beginning. They tout this work/life balance thing, but there isn't one. The store opens at 8am and closes at 11pm, so it's very possible that your shift will encompass the entire useful portion of the day. Hours are low, but they're still hiring, of course. The store is short-staffed all the time, until there's a planned visit, in which everyone will have a shift the day before in order to get everything done just to fake it. Visits don't invoke improvement if it appears that your store is always perfect. It's a farce. I could go on and on, but the moral of the story is that they're no different, no better than walmart. They just pretend to be.

Pros

10% employee discount? Free PB&Js in the break room? I guess for the college kids that get recruited straight to ETL positions this is a promising first job out of school... as long as they don't mind being indoctrinated in the methods of stepping on the backs of their working staff.

Cons

They tell me "this is retail" but who benefits from different days every week and different hours every day? You never know your schedule more than 10 days in advance so you can't make any plans for your life outside of work. All of this for what pays barely over minimum wage and your hours can get cut to almost nothing without notice. Talked to a guy today that was only scheduled for 7 hrs this week!! Ouch!! Virtually no room for advancement. Know people with the company 6,7,8 yrs who have taken their one step up the ladder and that's as far as they will go because of Target's college degree prerequisite to ETL.

Pros

OK benefits, corporate perks (free music concerts, etc), employee discount, decent salary for HQ positions, convenient to bus lines and other transportation

Cons

not family friendly, high expectations of employees, benefits could be greater, horrid corporate culture, until recently, required business dress even when it wasn't appropriate, VERY difficult to get promoted
