Pros

Target is a genuinely good company that pays fairly and doesn't do any funny business with bonuses. Their benefits are good, they are interested in your career progression. They put effort in to caring for their staff. It is a great place for people who like to optimize working systems.

Cons

Everything of substance is decided at HQ. Obviously this helps the company stay standardized, but it can also feel disempowering that very little is controlled at a local level. Many people stay with the company a long time, so while career growth is available, you might be "waiting" a while if you're not willing to relocate. However, people who relocate climb quickly. Also, leadership training is reserved for people in the director level, some senior managers. I think it would be well worth it to send people at lower levels, their lack of leadership training shows.
