Pros

Family environment, diversity and opportunity, clean and upbeat, flexible with school and personal schedules, in most cases they are good about recognizing hard work.

Cons

Bad communication from the top down, the company cut back with the recession, forcing cuts in positions but leaving the remaining people with double or triple the work and then gave terrible raises. No concept of the time it takes to get certain tasks done. A lot of looking the other way and favoritism. Management sits in offices all day and gets angry when the floor is behind or when mistakes are made. The reviews are sterile and the raises are prorated. Even if you are the best worker the store has, they will alter your review so that when they send it up to corporate the store will not be over budget for raises. The expect more out of you, and pay you less for it, their motto.

Pros

Great employees to work with. Loved visual merchandising.

Cons

New "better" strategies that make more work for the employees. Reducing labor force so that employees had to do more with less people.

Pros

Flexible work schedule is great when raising a family and the benefits aren't too bad, but are declining.

Cons

Are on a quest to rid themselves of anyone who has been with the company any length of time. This is being done by frivolous job expectations and the ever changing best practices. Seem to only be hiring those in their 20's fresh out of college for management positions so career advancement for internals is non existant. While turnover used to be a focus area and kept to a minimum, the perception now is if they keep turning people over, no one will have a chance to be given any raises and while that will benefit their bottom line, it does nothing for guest service. Time off can be challenging to get as there is always some reason to not grant it, even though you may have the time on the books.
