Pros

Nice People. Routine is the same. Easy to start working for the store. Some stores will give you autonomy and some stores will be really rigid. Stores are usually clean and up to date

Cons

The routine is the same. Retail during holidays is terrible. Management is always getting told to cut payroll. Raises are pretty minimal.

Pros

The pay is very good starting salary in comparison to other jobs fresh out of college. Target does develop you as a leader, and I believe I have grown in the time I have been there. If you work hard there is a lot of room for advancement, but only after 18-24 months.

Cons

If your store has opportunities expect to be working more of a 60 hour work week. Lots of college grads are picked up by Target but very few last. Target slaves their Executives because they do not give enough hourly payroll to run the business well. Leadership is inconsistent and the messages keep changing. In the end, it is good money, but there is no work-life-balance.

Pros

Most hourly team members are fantastic Hourly team members treated very well Decent salary Variety Decent company culture If you are one of the favored managers of the district manager, you get to spend a lot of time avoiding your job doing "special projects" while others have to cover your workload plus company mandates regarding time required in position before promotion are waived or overlooked

Cons

No real work/life balance - even though company claims to mandate this actual implementation is not enacted Strong favoritism from District Manager - which if not part of inner circle means no promotions or recognition Work different shifts - one day you're opening, next closing, third on a mid. Claims to have mentorship program, but not in place.
