Pros

Target treat management level with respect. Guest driven culture is a plus. Constantly driving to develop team. Want to committment from team members not compliance. benefits are the best in retail. Everyone is treated equally.

Cons

Work life and personal balance is what Target claimed to be about. They fail to tell you that unless your store is performing green in all areas, there no such thing. I have worked 16 hour days just trying to get team where they need to be performing.

Pros

You can put your family first and still get ahead. This company does a great job with building the teams moral.

Cons

very few opportunities with in store promotion and the pay raises leave a lot to be desired. This company has low entry level pay by comparison. There is no overtime and that is not great for some employees looking to make a few extra bucks. Low pay

Pros

I liked the advancement opportunities, I thought it would be a great place to grow with, you could spend your career there having many different experiences but still work for one company. The discount! The way there was life work balance prior to the "workforce reduction".

Cons

They jumped the gun by letting 600 people go that were assets to the team. The area I worked in got rid of half of their staff and went back to how it was when there were only 800 stores instead of 1600. That left a lot of people jobless and the people that were able to stay, their workload doubled. For a retail chain with a rep such as Target, somedays I wondered how they stayed open. The communication was terrible - the left hand never knew what the right hand was doing and there were numerous teams working on the same project so you were asked over and over again the same questions as someone just asked you.
