Pros

Target provides a flexible work schedule, which makes it ideal for either students or people with other full-time jobs. Also, even though working in retail isn't ideal no matter what, Target seems like they care a little bit more about their employees than some of their competitors. The HR department is very friendly and they try to help as much as they can. They don't get upset when asked questions or when presented with "problems". I was very satisfied as a whole.

Cons

The pay at Target isn't as comparable as it could be with other competitors. Before I took the job at Target, I had been offered a job at Meijer (same position) and would have gotten paid almost a dollar more. I turned down Meijer to work at Target for a little bit less because the other employees seemed happier and more genuine. All in all, the pay could be more competitive.

Pros

They value their employees and try everyweek to do something for them like pizza day or ice cream sundae day etc.., Target has huddles everyday in which employees are recognized for their effort. Target rewards those individuals who really work hard and are committed to their job by providing them with promotions and work incentives like providng them with a paid day off. Target provides excellent training for their managers, through a college business program, it is known to be one of the best training programs in the industry. Target really works hard to create a work atmosphere that their employees really find satisfying to work in, by always asking the employees for feedaback on the store and management performance and really trying to improve on those suggestions.

Pros

Easy job but it is retail so you have to put up with uneducated coworkers and customers. You dont have to think when doing this job. I worked on the sales floor and it was quite boring. You spend all day helping customers which is nice but you have absolutely no training in whatever department you work in besides on how to run a cash register. There is no formal training for your specific department so if you work in electronics and personally know nothing about electronics customers can get upset at you lack of knowledge. The best reason to work there is they hire just about anyone.

Cons

They really want you to sell their credit cards. You will be reprimanded if you are not selling enough cards to customers. As a customer I always hate when they push those credit cards at every store so I wouldn't do it as much as I was supposed to. Scheduling sucks. If you want to have specific work schedule you are pretty much out of luck. If you close the store you have to stay until the entire store is clean and ready to open tomorrow. I spent several nights past 1 am cleaning the store because other "team members" were incompetent or lazy.
