Pros

The most rewarding part for me is working with the diverse team members we have at my store. I've always enjoyed all of the Target stores that I've worked at - however I think the Boston District has been a unique and positive experience.

Cons

I am frequently expected to "bail" out my peers when they can't handle their own workload. This isn't an occasional thing. There are higher expectations on my performance. We're not all held accountable to our own core roles in a fair and consistent manner.

Pros

10% Discount. Easy promotion especially with college degree

Cons

Crazy hours in the 4th quarter. Often have less experienced fresh out of college managers supervising people that have been there for over ten years.

Pros

As an entry level retail job you could do a lot worse than target. Their work force is well staffed and they have the best inventory system in the business making your life at the entry level very simple and stress free. There is some room for advancement and raises if you are willing to put in the time and energy. The benefits are what you might expect from an entry level retail job: nothing stellar, however they are better than a few other retail companies I've worked for in the past couple of years. The quality of the products they offer is what makes Target stand out in my mind. In general they sell a much higher quality product (both store brand and independant labels) than the nations leading retailer.

Cons

Like with most retail companies during this hard time, hours are highly competitive and based on performance, not senority. Expect to give 110% every day whether you've been working there for 3 years or 3 weeks, that is if you want to see your name on next weeks schedule. Also you don't qualify for benefits until after 6mo. of full time work, compared to the typical 3mo. at most other companies.
