Pros

Pretty good company overall. They talk a lot about how they are better then anyone else. But after alll they are not that different at all. Schedules are tough sometimes. tney want you to open one day, close the other day, and open again. Communication with your supervisor depends on you more then on him, too much work sometimes, but they don't give you help, and excpect you to do miracles. But after all the atnosphere is very friendly.

Cons

They say they have open door policy - but it's not easy to make managenment listen to you. Thay are too busy talking to each other

Pros

They really have a culture where they listen to the employees. That is key. A lot of other companies treat their staff like cattle and, guess what, the cattle doesn't appreciate it very much. Target has these "chat sessions" where an HR person will ask you what you like/don't like. It's really helpful because you can literally tell them what you need changed and it is there job to tell you straight up that they can't change it, or to do something to change it. The compensation is really good too- extremely competitive. Not that I'm just driven by money, but it sure helps!

Cons

You basically just need to hope that you get a good District Manager. They are the key in supporting you. However, target's culture is one where the district manager is generally pretty good, but we are human and sometimes you might end up with a bad egg. I don't particularly care for retail- I basically just needed a job out of school and needed experience. What I'm saying is that I would rather have gotten a job working in something OTHER than retail, but it isn't all that bad. Try to form friendships with your co-workers. Your relationship with them will be one of the main reasons you decide you love/hate the job.
