Pros

Target is a stable and growing company. They focus on leadership development for all levels of employees. One of the best things about Target is that you will always know where you stand with your performance. As a company they focus on a feedback culture and expect you to be able to receive and give performance feedback. They allow you to take the time to develop professionally. They have also made huge progress in making sure the benefits are right for the employees. They offer a wide array of benefits including discounts to other retailers.

Cons

The opportunities for advancement are available, however it is very biased. It is often based on having a cute and bubbly personality and not on experience or capabilities. As with any retailer, the schedule of a 50 hour work week and working holidays does not provide for the best work/life balance.

Pros

- Creative & open to change - You can make a difference - Strong management - Excellent training & career development - Positive culture

Cons

- Formal dress code even at "dot com" (Target.com) - There is a Target type of person, and it is hard to fit in if you're not peppy & positive - Company division can be siloed, and it is sometimes hard to get information or assistance

Pros

I had a great time working in my own zone as well as getting to help other coworkers in their zones every shift. It gave me the feeling of personal responsibility, but I did not have to work only by myself either. I was able to learn many things about retail, and about different work areas inside target.

Cons

They did not always keep track of who had a break and who did not. This even happened when i was a cashier and a minor at the time!
