Pros

Pay is higher compared to other retailers. Annual Bonuses + Base Pay Raises. GOOD benefits and vacation time. Extremely Diverse (Gender, Age, Race, Sexuality). 10% Discount. Great work experience in retail management because of the amount of responsibility/higher volume of sales compared to others. Target is very innovative with trying new things for the guests and the company is very social media savvy. Job stability. You can rotate to different assignments if you do well. Logistics to Sales Floor. Sales Floor to Human Resources, etc. Target is a family business. Great work culture.

Cons

Work life balance is tough. It's retail. Not good if you don't like being on your feet. Time off is frowned upon during Q4 (October-December). 10 hour work days are expected. 12 hour work days are not uncommon. You will work weekends, but they rotate and you will be off every other weekend. On-Boarding/Training can be a toss up depending on the time/store. Payroll is really limited and creates unnecessary stress.

Pros

-Overall a good experience -Simple environment -repetitive routine. -doesn't take a rocket scientist to do your job -perfect for high school students -perfect job for older people as well 40-60 - you get free food every now and then

Cons

- They force to put "open availability" for the whole week or you pretty much don't get the job. -numerous LOD aka as managers of the store very unrpfofessional/ unorganized -takes years to start seeing growth within the company. -the LODs will not assign full time hours. unless you have been working for them over a year. Or if you're are an LOD. - expect no more than 24 hours a week if you're just a regular team member. -been here for 8 months and get no more than 20hours the week. (Expect holiday season) - their team leads are also very rude to older team members and are notably very stressed & passive aggressive. (They tend to be young) - if you're a college student on your own, impossible make ends meet so just run away. - female dominated so aka lots of drama and rumors get around easily. - you will see that management cares more about what's trending on social media more than what's going on at work. -HR makes it difficult and takes forever to enroll for benefits. - you will never have a set schedule because it will change every week.
