Pros

Stable & Reputable Employer Tesco is the UK’s largest supermarket chain — so job security is stronger than in many retail roles. Good Staff Benefits 10% staff discount (20% on certain days). Pension contributions, holiday pay, and sometimes life insurance. Access to colleague discount partners (gyms, shopping, travel). Flexible Shifts Options for part-time, full-time, nights, or weekends. Useful if you’re studying or need work-life balance.

Cons

Physically Demanding Lifting stock, stacking shelves, walking long hours — especially tough during busy seasons. Repetitive Work Tasks can feel monotonous: scanning items, shelf stacking, cleaning, assisting customers. Customer Challenges Dealing with rude or difficult customers can be stressful, particularly at checkouts.

Pros

Good in terms of flexibility and Over time.

Cons

Colleague benefits are not as much as thought, as well as so much responsibility for the amount of work.
