Pros

Home Depot is what you make it. There's a lot of room for personal growth and leadership experience, if you're willing to work hard and grab opportunities when they present themselves. Self-starters and energetic, hands-on kind of people do well. You tend to get to know the people you work with very well, and they become an important part of your day.

Cons

It's a very tough place to work. It's physically demanding, and emotionally draining. Customers are still used to "old" Home Depot and have very high expectations of their shopping experience. We simply don't provide that level of customer service anymore. There are fewer associates on the floor, so you provide the service you can, as quickly as you can. The customers who expect a "personal shopper" who will walk them around the store, cut their lumber, and explain how to build a deck tend to go away disappointed.

Pros

Hard to get fired once you get full time. Pay is decent. They will take care of you if you are part of "the boys club"

Cons

people not being held accountable, workers work harder as the slackers continue to steal time from the company.
