The Home Depot completely fails its associates when it comes to mental health and basic workplace respect. Despite claiming to have an Open Door policy and mental health resources, the reality on the floor is the complete opposite. Management lacks training and empathy regarding mental health conditions. I have personally seen and experienced how the company handles those struggling with mental health issues—and it is devastating. Rather than offering support, employees face intense scrutiny. Associates have even been terminated based on conversations that happened entirely outside of work hours, used as an excuse to purge staff dealing with personal or mental health struggles.
