Pros

Decent people, although not at all a young fun atmosphere. Plenty of free lunches after meetings.

Cons

Boring. Had zero interest in my job, not to mention the entire construction industry. it was an entry level position and my 2nd out of college. The senior level management was a bunch of stuffy old men, who pretty much ignored the subordinates. I felt that the company was badly in needed of modernization and advancements, technologically speaking. A lot of areas seemed very wasteful tp me.

Pros

Good benefits package in line with competitors. Good Investment in your training. Well known name to use on your resume when you leave.

Cons

Mass exodus a few years back resulted in several promotions in management to some under qualified and incompetent people, seemingly out of desperation. If you are not part of the “in” crowd, you may have a tough time getting anywhere. Totally ridiculous evaluation process easily and unfairly manipulated by stealth reviewers and constantly changing goals. Senior PM’s and Exec’s with the ability to avoid real issues and roll their responsibilities into your lap without any support. They have no problem taking credit for your hard work when things go well and just as easily pointing fingers if things start to go south. Rarely will you get any recognition for your efforts and success. Don’t get me wrong, there are some very smart and talented folks, but most have left the company leaving the weasels behind to run the show. Work Life Balance is nothing more than propaganda. Percentage of experienced people has dwindled over the past several years leaving some of the lower paid, less experienced in way over their heads. Commonly referred to by some subcontractors and clients as "Turner Tots". Kind of scary.

Pros

-Independence and little day to day supervision -Direct contact with company executives -Work daily with project managers and project executives -good salary for experience and among peers

Cons

-time lost traveling to department meetings at corporate office. -division between construction departments and finance almost like two differnt companies at times -not matched with projects that are closer to where you live and easier to get to -little incentive to have the project done faster because bonus is set and not based on productivity
