Pros

Fairly compensated considering locale and good option if you want to work at an Investment Bank but closer to home. Decent medical benefits.

Cons

Hard to get promoted unless you are either a) work on high profile project b) have exposure to management c) on a fasttrack d) riding the coattails of someone. Senior Management changes every 3-4 years which resets your history and accomplishments. If you are average to above average performer, be prepared for little to no advancement per grade level. Only very few get recognized. Need to be on the right project at the right time. Compensation if fair but not comparable to NYC based Investment banks. Career development is weak. Training is weak. You need to actively manage your career.

Pros

You get to keep bankers' hours almost no matter what department you work in There is flex time available, and management tends to respects employees' needs Decent benefits package

Cons

Pay is 15-20% lower than comparable positions Promotions are scarce, raises and bonuses are almost nonexistent Upper management doesn't understand 'accountability', preferring instead to defer most decisions Unending, inscrutable reorganizations leave morale very low

Pros

One of the Largest manager of Private Wealth Assets. Second Largest bank in Europe. Room for growth within different Departments/Branches at UBS.

Cons

One of the biggest downsides to working at UBS is that there is no Job security. Also the salary isn't as high as other investment firms. The software that the firm uses is also outdated.
