Pros

The company has great resources and great people. The company provides great training and support. The market resources and client resources are tremendous. The training process is very thorough and very focused. Management is very proactive and willing to work with you. The company has analysts and economists from all over the world which is very helpful in making investment decisions.

Cons

The company is too large and sometimes too regulated. Even though the industry is very heavily regulated, UBS is sometimes too conservative. This is positive on one hand but can be an impediment on the other hand.

Pros

Speaking of IT only - good culture and great people, quite a few have been around for many years. Some IT folks are people with very deep technical skills. Management in general pretty strong and demanding which can be considered as downside too.

Cons

on IT operations side work/life balance issues, additional weekend/off hours work and in times can be stressful environment to work in. In some areas benefits went down recently due to market, and company losses.

Generally highly skilled people, working hard and sharing knowledge. Friendly and positive work environment. Good benefits and a real attempt to provide a supportive work environment and a reasonable work life balance.

Cons

Long hours, expectation of complete commitment. Like many large organisations, knowing people is critical to success. Possible to coast and achieve little if you don't remain enthusiastic.
