Pros

UBS is a large firm with good infrastructure and training to help you get started. If you're fresh into finance, UBS is one of the best places to get started. It's also one of the most women friendly banks that I've seen.

Cons

Large firm means you can get lost amongst the crowd. If you want to stand out you really need to be doing alot to get noticed. Conservative style of management/legal and compliance means alot of business opportunities may be let go, although the current mortgage back securities crisis doesn't seem to confirm this...

Pros

If you have the right manager, very flexible with days off, changing of hours especially when it's a family matter.

Cons

Their compensation is low as compared to many of their competitors. Many people have left or taken a Voluntary Severance Package.

Pros

There are a few good people scattered around. Hard to find but they are there.

Cons

Outdated management and systems. Some of these managers are older than Paine Webber. Managing Directors that manage the day-2-day but have no 3/5/10 year plan. IT systems from the 1980's. Inaccurate processing on a daily basis.
