Pros

Benefits are better than others on the street. Used to be a great bank to have on your resume and a great place to build your career, not so much anymore.

Cons

Where do I start? Been here for 3 years and it's 2 years too long. Look to your left and look to your right, 2 out of 3 of your jobs are being moved to Nashville, offshore or gone completely. Cost cutting is insane to a point where they are creating huge costs to try an and cut them. People getting moved from floor to floor in Stamford just to get settled and move to NY or Nashville or the newest location of the top floor of RBS. Management spends 80% of their time talking about head count and how many hours their employees are working that there's no direction for actual client work. Internal moves are slim though growing. If you are lucky enough to land a job internally with a better department don't expect compensation. You'll get 5% if promoted only where you can 20% to go to any bank on the street. Overall it's a job not a career. Not a terrible place to get started but don't make it your life.

Pros

Coworkers are great, decent benefits, good amount of vacation time

Cons

You're made to feel like you're a lemming. You're reviewed based on stats and numbers, not quality. There's no humanity when it comes to work-life balance. Not to mention, in the interview process they pride themselves on supporting personal growth and development, but in reality they make it nearly impossible for you to move up - or out - or achieve anything. There's no incentive to work hard, as it will get you nowhere but taken advantage of.
