Pros

Some intelligent people Decent pay and good benefits It feels that you are being based on merit and that hard work can pay off Good place to learn and to start a career Access to education UBS is and has been going through a lot of change recently, it feels that it's moving in the right direction but there is still a long way to go and the priorities are not always right.

Cons

Lack of accountability Middle managers pursuing their own agenda and protecting their own fiefs above anything else No sense of working together across teams as one company with people constantly trying to push responsibility to someone else Can be extremely political at times Lack of inspiring people in the organisation Poor infrastructure with lots of systems that do not communicate and no documentation available Very bureaucratic and corporate The usual problem with large organisations that senior management live on a different planet to most employees, communicated messages feel completely irrelevant Long working hours and always low on resources
