Pros

Getting high salaries which the sources are taxes and charities

Cons

While UNHCR operates as a non-profit organization with a limited budget, I found that this sometimes led to inefficiencies and a lack of accountability in workplace culture. Unfortunately, my experience was marked by an environment of unproductive gossip, unhealthy competition, and at times, unprofessional behavior. The internal justice system lacks transparency and effectiveness, leaving staff vulnerable in situations involving false accusations or interpersonal conflict. There is little institutional protection or recourse for those facing threats or unfair treatment, which can be deeply discouraging for committed professionals. Overall, my experience within the organization was regrettable and not aligned with the values and standards expected in a reputable international body.
