Pros

Salary is very attractive and excellent benefits for staff

Cons

Even though UNICEF always likes to promote healthy work/life balance they never expect it from you. Work environment is HIGHLY political Staff act as if donors are gods and literally bow down to their every word AND how dare you try to make new suggestions that could possibly further development. Sometimes I wonder if these so called donors actually want to help poor countries succeed and be more independent. Lots of spending on development projects takes place every year but little results are achieved and senior level management don't seem to have (or fail to act on) real solutions.

Pros

rewarding work, very nice people to work with, good benefits if you are staff, work-life balance

Cons

Management has no accountability for their bad decisions and foreseeable mistakes. There are senior managers who do not know how to hire and manage people, let alone retain the talent they have. I have seen nepotism over and over again in the 3 years I have been in the organization.

Pros

Powerful and necessary aim of providing emergency food and disaster relief Generally nice and helpful team members Comprehensive training Understanding managers

Cons

Did feel a lot of pressure to end conversations which didn't have an immediate lead to a donation High pressure to hit daily targets Extremely draining work
