Pros

It is well paid. Consultants take care of their insurance, pension, ect..... You have more flexibility to direct your project and its stakeholders compare to other heavily supervised structure/institution

Cons

No path for a career advancement or training that encourage life learning. Nepotism is at its best with no rotation of staff so you can have a senior team that has been there for 15 y. No gender effective policy, Most staff and consultants don't have any background or knowledge on international cooperation which hindered any qualitative reflection on type of program and intervention, especially in Fragile States. Don't count on diversity and inclusion
