Pros

A secure job with a large successful company. Good opportunities to advance if you are willing to put in the work but may take years. Competitive pay and benefits package (although not what it was pre-recession). Teamwork atmosphere is enjoyable.

Cons

The hours can be erratic including working nights or really any hours you can think of due to the 24 hour operation. I have had regular assignments working both 6 to 4's and the bad 9 to 5. Long hours at Christmas time. Many times overly intense management from above with very aggressive performance goals. Often dirty and tiring depending on your position.

Pros

I came to work for UPS because of the tuition assistance and the benifits. It has also been very stable compared to other companies.

Cons

There are certain things that you have to give up to work at UPS. Everything is part time based work. To go full time, there is a considerable wait. The hours are based on sort coverage. Chances are, you will be giving up your nights. Evan if you work day sort, you will still be working Sun- thurs
