Pros

High pay for officers, exposure to wide variety of leadership styles, occasionally exciting while training or deployed

Cons

A collection of all the worst organizational practices imaginable. Unbelievably wasteful and inefficient. Few opportunities to think critically. Toxic leadership everywhere. No coherent systems in place for anything. Reverse Darwinism (adverse selection) encourages stupidity. Officers have no idea how to do their jobs because they're constantly changing positions.

Pros

I love the Army! Once settled in to a unit, there's a sense of community like none other. You'll develop skills and friendships that will last a lifetime. I'm proud of my service of over a decade and thank you to those who are to serve and continue serving.

Cons

Hurry up and wait is my biggest pet peeve in the military. Bad leadership is my next pet peeve. The promotion system needs to be fair and should be modeled after the Navy or Air Force promotion system.
