Pros

There is no limit to the amount of praise I could give the Army, or any of the uniformed services, for their workplace experience. The act of enlisting into the military is a truly transformative experience; one that almost anyone can participate in if they so choose to. But make no mistake: it isn’t going to be a cake-walk. For anyone who has the right work ethic or the passion for public service, I would certainly recommend this avenue to you.

Cons

The Army is by no means without its faults and shortcomings, and nowhere is this made more readily apparent than in its leadership structure. There was a fair mix of good and bad leaders, but unlike many other organizations, it isn’t necessarily so easy to address a bad leader when they’re your direct superior. Fortunately, my unit was able to find a way, but it took a lot more than it should have to effect any real changes.
