Thanks! While the company has grown up fast, it's all to keep pace with the growth of the business. Exciting times to be a part of the team here!

Lots to learn and lots to work on - I couldn't agree more. You're working on a fascinating part of the company; keep up the great work and thanks for the review.

Pros

Uber has some of the best tooling in the industry for Engineers. Its extremely engineer-centric, as an engineer you're definitely a first class citizen at Uber. Great snacks, ride credits, and free rides to/from caltrain and after 10pm are top of the line perks. Catered lunches and dinners (although only if you stay until 8:15pm). HUGE growth, it's common to see your team double every 6 months.

Cons

Ever Increasing scope/expectations and constantly fluctuating priorities are not something I'd expect at a company that size. I sat at four desks in my first month and it took me two months to get my first meeting with one of my managers. It's not uncommon to have actual "do this or leave" situations, mostly ending with people attempting the task and then being asked to leave. High stress situations like these lead to mistrust between employees and paranoia.

Thanks for sending in this review. You call out some perks - credits, snacks, and lunch/dinner - that we all love. Regarding the cons, Uber is a fast-paced, constantly changing company. While this is a pro in many ways, it can also lead to the stress you mention. Everyone is encouraged to have an open, honest conversation with their manager about priorities and how to make sure they have what's needed to be successful in their time here.
