Pros

Very relaxed environment. Gym, good restaurant, showers, bupa, coffee, fruit. Training and development.

Cons

Harsement and bullying when they want to get rid of you. Management can block your move to change jobs and there is a grading system to depending your bonus and pay raise. They expected you to work like a dog. They makes excuses not to pay this such as you performed lower compared to your peers, we performed worse than expected in the uk or Europe. Company just wants to double it's size.

Pros

.Work Area .Cafeteria .Some of our Colleagues .Number of official holidays are better than other industry peers

Cons

.When onboarded as an IT Consultant, You are treated as an untouchable and asked to work on roles which are in out of scope. .When I was onboarded, I was told I will be working with other managers to formalize the support activities on par with their global team members. Unfortunately, I was made to work on revisioning documentation when my scope was work was stated I will be responsible for the end to end project management. .During my opportunity with the organization, I never got an opportunity to work on what was mentioned in my scope of work. Even when I stepped up and said I would like to bridge the communication challenges between onshore and offshore peers, They brushed aside my feedback and asked me to keep my mouth shut (the manager whom I reported to stated the exact same words) .They always looked down upon me and stated they were paying 5 times my salary to my parent company and I was not fit working for them (While I was just 2 weeks into the work).

Pros

You work for a globally recognised company.

Cons

- Lacks a sociable atmosphere - teams are extremely siloed and you are not encouraged to talk to or collaborate with other team members (one of my team members even teased me for talking to someone outside of our team). As a result, huge opportunities to learn are being missed because people are simply not aware of what other people are doing. - Little in the means of training or talks - before starting at Unilever I assumed there would be great opportunities to learn and structured training offered. With all of the contacts and brands the Unilever has, they could (should) easily be able to do a monthly, insightful talk and encourage structured training rather than simply 'learn yourself' attitude. - Hot desking - means you don't have a regular desk. My current team is a team of 15, there are 9 seats available in our 'allocated area'. If you don't arrive before 8:45am, you have to spend about 30 minutes walking around the various floors, trying to find a desk that is free (many are 'saved' by other teams) and has fully working equipment - pretty much all of the chairs are broken, screens/mouse/keyboard issues etc. - Tiny gym that was previously the CEO's that he has now 'generously' opened up to his employees. So small that it hardly caters for the 6 floors of employees and actually done to ensure that HR can cut the gym subsidy benefit that was previously offered.

We'll ensure your comments about team interaction and cross working is passed on, as well as your points on training, hot desking and social events. We'd also recommend setting up a time to talk with your HR Business Partner who would be keen to help with these points. We hope 2016 is successful for you and wish you all the best.
