Pros

You will get the chance to learn a lot about yourself. I had no clue i could sell anything before this job... i was coached and developed very well. Unfortunely there is a glass ceiling above you and they dont want you to make money anymore.

Cons

The commison structure has went to garbage. you can sell more phones a month than you did last year and you will still make 2000 less a month.

Pros

Cellco offers excellent pay and has some of the best benefits in the industry. Cellco's compensation structure is far above the industry average. It is not easy to get a job with Cellco and there is a very long screening process. Meaning, usually only very strong candidates are hired. Cellco store environments are highly professional and dress code is strictly enforced, which I think customers appreciate. Cellco also gives very good pay raises. If you are willing to relocate opportunities for advancement can be quite good. Cellco also offers some of the best tuition assistance in the wireless industry. Most Cellco employees are very proud of the work they do.

Cons

Cellco pays a lot of lip service to coaching and employee development with very little follow through. Many employees are thrown to the wolves the second they get out of basic training. This can be very difficult for employees who do not pick up things as quickly or who may need a little more personalized training. Cellco is also a very HR friendly company and it is very difficult to get fired. This is extremely frustrating for the hard working employees who see other employees slacking off with very little consequences. Wireless customers also tend to be very demanding and have a high sense of self entitlement. This can be very unpleasant to deal with and it becomes taxing after a while.

Pros

in todays economy they're the strongest cell phone company so provides some job security. there are always postions available. I'm not sure but i believe they pay the most among wireless providers

Cons

every year the company makes more money but they continue to cut the pay of sales reps and ask reps to do more. the volume of business we do every month makes the average commission per sale low. For example, my new activation quota for feb(a slow month) is 55 and 100 renewals or upgrades on existing customers. this will pay me around 1200 in commissions. a friend of mine at t-mobile his new activation quota was 15 and his commission check will be around 800. sure I make more total money but look at how much more work I have to do to get it-almost 4 times as much!
