Pros

Verizon is a good place to start a career. The salary is great and the benefits are pretty good.

Cons

Constant downsizing has left many departments impotent. Demands on employees to assume the burden of additional work without proper resources has impacted morale. There is a distinct difference in the three companies within Verizon.

Pros

It is a great place to work if you love working with the latest technology. You get to get your hands on the latest toys and you get to carry some fun devices. They have a very fair compenstation package and great benefits. You get day one benefits like 401k, 10 days vacation, prepaid tuition, health, dental, vision, and 7 personal days per year. The company is nationwide and there are a variety of departments to work in.

Cons

If you are highly opinionated then be careful, most management does not appreciate it. They are quick to give negative feedback, but you have to pull anythign positive out of them. They don't communicate the "Why" in most changes, which is very frustrating, they just tell us the change and expect us to deal with it. There are too many politics in promotions. There are often unreasonably expectation placed on you. Such as I am expected to be available by phone at all times during business hours, which are retail hours.

Pros

The pay used to be good, but now it's harder to hit your target commission and bonus commission structure.

Cons

You have to work weekends and holidays, as well as having a blackout period where you can't take vacation in the 4th quarter of the year. Selling enhanced features also was hard at times.
