Pros

The benefit package is their biggest selling point for potential employees, it is the only thing they have going for them.

Cons

Everything outside of the benefits! They don’t train properly and forget about asking for extra help. They will pretty much hire anyone fully knowing at least half of the people will not make it through training. This is not an entry level job, I worked customer service for 10+ years with other companies, and never had such a horrible experience than with this company.

Pros

Decent health benefits. Half off mobile service plans.

Cons

I used to LOVE working for Verizon! I truly saw this company as a future for myself. I looked forward to outdoing myself daily, I enjoyed competing with coworkers and exceeding sales goals! I am deeply disappointed at how this company has turned out and shows no signs of getting better. Compensation has become so terrible, however the company expects double the work and performance in sales. They dramatically changed our commission structure for the worse. Payout went from individual performance to a team based commission. Our customer surveys also now outweigh our sales performance. We can double our quota for the month, but we get less than a handful of not so good surveys and our commission checks suffer greatly. This restructure also allows for tenured specialists to simply ride the wave of those new hires coming in trying to make a name for themselves. When new hires or competitive specialists really try hard, everyone makes the same check. Despite the work and effort put in by each individual. The drive there once was to be the best, or motivation behind selling products and being the best salesman no longer exists. Verizon used to also care for employees and our work/life balance. They clearly no longer do. They increased our store hours to open earlier, close later and now open on Sundays. This company has truly gone downhill and I am currently seeking other career routes as I no longer wish to grow with this company.

Pros

They have good overall benefits.

Cons

Verizon as a company has seriously deteriorated over the years (especially since covid-19). They are all about getting their MONEY! Whether it is at the employee's expensive or the customer's they don't care. In trying to squeeze every dime out of everyone they have let too many employees go (which they encouraged). This caused really long wait times for the customer, and the stress put upon the employees. In turn they are pushing employees to sell products to customers they don't want or need (bundling products). Insurance is one of their biggest rip offs. They sell these expensive plans to customers knowing they don't really need their big plans ($50 family $17 individual). What they don't tell you is there are other less expensive options that provide what most customers want (warranty, loss, theft, damage). Employees trained to offer the more expensive plans and not really trained on what the other plans offer. Verizon has been doing their best to get rid of high performing and tenured employees as well. This means customers are much less likely to have a rep with the right experience and knowledge to offer a complete experience. They changed the commission structure so overachievers make thousands less per year, and tenured reps are leaving in droves because Verizon has declined to where I barely even recognize them from when I started. Overall Verizon has been chasing the almighty dollar not caring about their employee or customer needs.
