Pros

Walgreens provided great training and a relaxed atmosphere to work in. Management pay was very reasonable for a starting position compared to similar companies.

Cons

I found a lot of times you where too understaffed too meet the demands or requirements of your store manager.

Pros

The pay was competitive and I enjoyed working with my co-workers.

Cons

You are required to work holidays and it is difficult to get any days off at all. Also, they made me drive an hour to work when there were 3 Walgreen's on the way to my store. Last, many times the manager put her job on me in addition to my responsibilities as the assistant manager.

Pros

Walgreens paid reasonably well for store management. Benefits were decent. As a store manager, you had the ability to run your own business to a certain degree. Bonuses were good, but they have lowered those tremendously.

Cons

You had to live at the store during the holidays. Poor communication from senior management. Micromanaging from district managers. Too much politics in the workplace. Lowering the bonus structure has the effect of lowering our salaries overall.
