Pros

Wal-mart does provide a wide variety of jobs an associate can do, if the associate is looking to learn all the in and outs of the retail business. So if you have a little ambition and like to learn new things Wal-mart may be a good fit for you.

Cons

Disorganized it the best one word description of the Wal-Mart job experience. I believe this has occurred due to the combination of two factors; not having enough associates to fully and carefully complete daily tasks and Management repeatedly changing how they want the task to be done. This disorganized makes it impossible for an associate to feel any level of job satisfaction.

Pros

They hire people from all walks of life, they offer a training path to a managerial career if desired, there's a 10% discount on non-food items for employees (after 90 days).

Cons

Often understaffed and not enough hand-held scanners and walkie-talkies which creates a daily environment of chaos and confusion, management often snaps at sales staff when under pressure (which is most of the time for them), basically every day many staff members are frustrated and pissed about the way things are run.
