Pros

The company is committed to personal and professional development, sustainability, and philanthropic efforts. There is a genuine interest in treating people fairly and with respect.

Cons

Benefits package is very mixed, and the location is a little out of the way. It's a fiscally responsible company, which has huge upsides in this economy, but it's not a typical .com

Pros

Good pay (for a cashier) and co-workers. Good place to work while still in school. Study the the different branches, not all are equal to shop at, or work for. I worked at a good branch, but a few miles away was a branch people skipped over to get to ours.

Cons

Demanding customers, standing all shift, average retail worker complaints Can be under staffed (5-6 people doing work better suited to 10 or more, especially closing shift) seem to like scheduling employees to work closing (on shift till 10:30pm or 11pm) followed by opening (on shift starting at 7am)

Pros

Walmart has recently restructured the managemet schedules so that you pretty much know what your schedule will be throughout the year. Although your superior manager can change your schedule making you work whatever they want you to work. Work schedule for day management is 3 days on 3 days off 8am-8pm daily. Overnight shift i 4 on and 4 off 8pm-8am.

Cons

Schedule can be changed whenever regardless Over the years walmarts focus has turned from customer and associates to just making a quick buck. Pay is not competitive to other assistant manager positions I have seen, when you are managing a store 4 times the size
